Futura was the first font in space. When Paul Renner created Futura in 1927, he probably didn’t know how literal its namesake would be. The font didn’t really catch on until the 1950s, but its use culminated when NASA used Futura to engrave the aluminum plaque left on the moon as a memento of the Apollo 11 mission.

Hello Helvetica:

Helvetica or Neue Haas Grotesk is a widely used sans-serif typeface developed in 1957 by Swiss typeface designer Max Miedinger with input from Eduard Hoffmann. It is named after the Latin name “Switzerland” and is famous among designers for its clean, bold, and modern look. Read more about Helvetica here:
